Want to gear up for NaNoWriMo?

I found this in my Friends feed from the add_a_writer community. Anybody interested? I know I want to try...

Hey there fellow writers!

Want to gear up for Nanowrimo? Want to get back into the swing of things with your writing?

Then come joins us this October for a fun-filled month of writing! Write 10 entries of 1000 words or more - whether they be updates for your novels or one-shots, and one original story that is 6,000 or more words! Fulfilling all the entries isn't mandatory (though you do get a nifty banner if you do) - all we ask is that you try! If we can help even one person get back on track with their writing, then we've done our job! :)

Not convinced yet?

October Writing Challenge is also a great place to give/receive feedback and meet other writers! We encourage everyone to help cheer each other on, as we make our way towards the end of the month.

Make sure to check us out at: http://octoberwriting.livejournal.com/profile

Just leaving this here, in case anybody is interested. :)

I was so glad to see so many prompts for the month of August! Hopefully it'll keep up for September.

This month's theme is: Method of Travel.

As always, please refer to the profile for more information and rules. Your next prompt list will be posted by herecirm on October 1st.

Also don't forget that you are not restrained by the prompts of this month, only! You can write to whatever prompt from previous months, too. Just be sure to tag and list them accordingly.

Lottery: Sometimes, the best creativity comes as a result of constraint. Leave a comment on this post with your character(s) name, and I will match a prompt with them at random. You might find yourself exploring a scene you wouldn't have thought of otherwise!

Enjoy!

Prompt Set: June/July 2013, "Neil Gaiman"

Did everyone enjoy themselves during the small hiatus? Hiatuses are good. Especially when everybody is super busy with school, work, and travels.

BUT WE'RE BACK!

As you all know (and if you didn't, well now you do), Neil Gaiman is my favorite author EVER. And I get to meet him on the 7th, so this prompt set is all about him!

Use the prompts any which way you see fit!

This month's theme is: Neil Gaiman.

Prompt set: May 2013, "Random"

Hi, everybody!

Sorry for the delay; I was half-way done with the list on May 1st and I did something that required me to restart all of my open windows. When I came back to LJ, LJ wouldn't retrieve my saved draft like it used to. So in between that and working a 60 hour work week, Life has been frustrating and hectic.

Anyway, lets try this again.

Ready for a mash-up of previous themes?! Thewyrmx is celebrating THREE YEARS of monthly prompts! :D Huzzah!!

This month's theme is: Random.

Prompt List: April 2013, "Curious Bones"

Sorry about the slight delay! Anywho. I went to a museum exhibition recently to look at a bunch of skeletons, and I found it really fascinating to imagine the lives - and deaths - of the people they'd belonged to. So that's where this month's theme comes in. These are all real discoveries; in some cases I've included date and location, but feel free to alter the information as needed.

This month's theme is: Curious bones

Prompt set: March 2013, "Literary Quotes"

Helloooooo out there!

So here's the deal. I grab a random book, open it to a random page, steal a sentence, and you make something awesome from the already awesome sentence. Kay? Kay. Here we go.

Happy 2013! Any New Years resolutions?

After NaNoWriMo, I spent all of December playing video games (notably Assassin's Creed III and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3). Interpret it how you want!
